If you already know the month you want to start, ask Manny or use the form. A person confirms the house.
Membership
What is Man Made Space?
A membership in Austin for students, working professionals, founders, and digital nomads. It is a place to live, connect, work, and grow. Where you live is part of the membership, not a separate rental you assemble yourself.
What does $999 include?
Member is $999 per person, per month. It is co-living: a twin share near Downtown Austin, with a common kitchen. That includes the furnished room you share with one other member, wifi, house utilities, cleaning of shared spaces, and the open life of the house: coffee, the table, gatherings anyone in the house can join.
What is the difference between $1,249 and $1,499?
All three prices include where you live, twin sharing. Community at $1,249 adds the wider network: the members' chat, mixers, workshops with a seat held, introductions, Austin event discounts, and hosted work blocks. Founder's Circle at $1,499 is for people building a company: dinners, monthly time with an operator, investor introductions, product office hours, fractional time with people who have run companies, and a circle small enough to know your work.
Is the place I live billed separately?
The membership is the whole number. Member, Community, and Founder's Circle each include the twin-sharing place in the house.
Are taxes included?
Taxes are additional. That applies to membership at $999, $1,249, and $1,499 a person a month, and to Unlock Austin at $14,999 a person.
Is Unlock Austin a membership?
Unlock Austin is a different program. It is a ninety-day grind for ten founders, with its own price and its own site. A Man Made membership is co-living on a contract of 6, 12, or 18 months.
How long does a membership last?
Every membership is a contract of 6, 12, or 18 months. Six is the shortest. The price stays per person, per month, and the room, the common kitchen, and the membership run together for that term.
The house
Where would I live?
Near Downtown Austin. The exact place is told when you want to visit. Until then we match the kind of living: Social, Workday, On-foot, Campus, Workweek, or Longer-stay. The visit is in person, or on video if you are not here yet.
What is twin sharing?
Co-living. Two members in a furnished room. You each have a bed, a desk, and storage. We pair people with some attention to schedule and how they live. The common kitchen, the table, and the common rooms are for the whole house.
Can I have the room to myself?
The prices on this site are per person, twin sharing. If you need a different arrangement, say so when you write. We will tell you whether that house can do it. We will not quietly change the price.
What is the kitchen for?
Cooking. The house has a common kitchen, cookware, and a table. Members use it. That is part of the co-living.
Who cleans?
You keep your side of the room. We clean shared kitchens, baths, and floors on a set day. Dishes in the sink are still yours.
Can I have guests?
Overnight, with a note to the house. A guest is not a second member. Membership is per person. If someone is going to live there, they join.
Are pets allowed?
Not in every house. Tell us before you choose a place, whether you have an animal or you need a house without one.
Work, network, growth
Can I work from the house?
Yes. That is part of the point. You have a desk, wifi that is meant to hold a workday, and common rooms that are not a second office unless a work block is actually scheduled. Community and the Circle add hosted work time.
Do I have to go to events?
No. Monday coffee and the house table are there if you want a low-stakes way in. Community mixers and Circle dinners are for the people on those memberships. Nobody takes attendance at coffee. The Circle does expect you to use it.
Who is Founder's Circle for?
People building a company who want more than a room full of ambitious neighbors. You get dinners, a monthly one-to-one with an operator, introductions made with context, product office hours, and time with people who have actually run the functions you are stuck on. It is still twin sharing in the house. The extra is the circle.
I am not a founder. Is this for me?
Yes. Students, working professionals, and digital nomads are the membership as much as founders are. Community is often the right tier if you want the network and you are not building a company. Member is enough if you want the house and the open calendar.
Starting
I don't have US credit yet.
A normal way to arrive. We can look at a school letter, an employer letter, or savings, and we tell you which one before you start. The room is furnished, so the first week is not a furniture project.
I'm a student.
Campus living is the walk to class. Longer-stay living is the quieter block nearby. August and January fill first. You are a member, on the same prices.
I'm only here for a season.
A season on the membership is a contract of 6, 12, or 18 months, in the same houses and at the same prices.
How fast can I start?
Often within two weeks of a yes, sooner if a twin share is already open. If you are not in Austin yet, we can walk the house with you on video.
Which neighborhood?
Social living if you want food, porches, and other people starting things. On-foot living if you want the city on foot. Campus living if the university is the center. Workweek living if the week is a job. Longer-stay living if you want quieter mornings. Workday living if you take calls. The exact place is told when you want to visit.
Houses we partner with
I have a house. Is that a fit?
Sometimes. We look for a kitchen people will use, a table, and rooms that work as twin shares for members. The neighborhood has to be one people can live a week in. Write from the partner page and we will tell you honestly.
How do partnerships work?
Two ways. A license partnership if you want the house off your week, with a set monthly amount after we have seen it. A management partnership if you want members in the house and you still want an owner's view. Neither starts from a form. Both start from a walk-through.
