Man Made Space

Journal

The first thirty days

How a membership actually starts, whether you are landing for a degree, a job, a company, or a season.

Man Made Space

The first week is when a new city is mostly logistics. The membership is built so that week is shorter: the room is furnished, the kitchen works, and there are already people in the house.

Before you arrive

Tell us the month, which membership you want, and whether you are a student, in a job, building a company, or here for a season. If you do not have US credit yet, say so. A school letter, an employer letter, or savings can be enough, and we name which one before you start. If you are not in Austin, we walk the house on video.

Bring clothes, a laptop, and the documents we asked for. The bed and the desk are already there. The kitchen already has what you need to cook.

The first days

You meet the person you share the room with. You get the wifi, the quiet hours, and how to reach us when something breaks. Come to Monday coffee if you want names without a performance. Cook once. Work a day from the desk so you know the house can hold it.

By day thirty

You will know if the house and the tier fit. The contract is 6, 12, or 18 months, so the first weeks are how you learn the house you are in. Community and the Circle pay off when you use them.
