Sharing a room, and a house

Twin sharing works when the small things are written down.

Man Made Space

You share a room with one member and a house with several more. The failures are small: an unlabeled container, a call on speaker, a guest who has quietly moved in. The standards exist so nobody has to learn them by annoying someone.

The room

Your bed, your desk, your storage. Theirs is theirs. We pair people with some attention to hours and how social they are. If that pairing is wrong, say so early. It is a fixable problem. Living around it for three months is not the plan.

The kitchen

Label your food. A communal shelf is communal. If you finish something that was not yours, replace it. The kitchen is there to be used. It stays usable only if people cook and also clean up after themselves.

Work

Calls happen at your desk or out of the common rooms. The table is not a conference room unless a work block is scheduled. If your job starts at 8 and needs a quiet house, skip Campus living. Workday living, Workweek living, and Longer-stay living are the calmer ones.

When something is off

Tell the person if you can say it plainly. Tell us if you cannot, or if it is about safety or the building. You do not have to run the house. That stays our job after you start.
